Darkmok Tech is developing a cell and packaging design to make solid-state batteries a viable replacement for conventional Li-ion technology for EVs and short-duration storage, which are fire-prone and difficult-to-recycle. Their onnovation is based on prismatic cell design with stacked electrodes and aluminum casing that will improve cycle-life by reducing interfacial resistance and Li-dendrite formation. Darkmok Tech aims to enhance and enable Direct Recycling by incorporating features into cell-design that allows automated disassembly of cell, a task not feasible with current packaging methods.
