CalSEED Story: Rivieh, Intelligent Energy Efficient Rooms at Scale

Hotels waste more than $1 billion a year in energy costs, heating and cooling empty rooms; this is the problem CalSEED awardee Rivieh set out to solve.

By leveraging radar technology, Rivieh developed a cost-effective building automation solution that requires minimal installation and maintenance. This approach eliminates the need for complex engineering designs and expensive hardware, making energy-efficient building automation accessible to a broader range of buildings, including hotels, student housing, and rental apartments.

Rivieh’s solution, Solis, automatically adjusts lighting and temperature based on occupancy, significantly reducing energy consumption by around 15 percent and, in turn, saving money. This not only benefits the environment but also provides a more comfortable and efficient experience for building occupants.
